He has a Medical Degree\, a Masters in Community Health and a Doctorate in Public Health from the Université de Montréal\, Canada. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Canada in Preventive Medicine and Public Health.\nJean-Frédéric brings extensive senior leadership in healthcare systems analysis and improvement\, combining experience in clinical practice in refugee health and tropical medicine\, in clinical governance and in academic research. He is a member of the HealthShare NSW Board and a member of the Strategic Analytic Advisory Committee of the Canadian Institute of Health Information.\nAs part of his research portfolio\, Jean-Frédéric has published more than 160 peer reviewed publications and his seminal research producing a conceptual framework on healthcare access and inequity has been cited more than 3\,000 times.\nOriginally from Canada\, Jean-Frédéric has worked in diverse medical\, research and public health roles in Canada\, India\, the United Kingdom and Australia.\n\n\nAnna McFadgen \n\nAnna McFadgen is the Chief Executive Officer of St Vincent’s Health Network Sydney\, a role which she has held since August 2023. In this role\, Anna is accountable for the overall leadership and management of St Vincent’s Health Network Sydney which comprises St Vincent’s Hospital Sydney\, Sacred Heart Health Service and St Vincent’s Correctional Health Service at Parklea Correctional Centre. It also includes St Vincent’s Centre for Applied Medical Research. She joined St Vincent’s in 2018\, initially working at St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne in strategy and business development\, prior to relocating to St Vincent’s Health Network Sydney. \nPrior to joining St Vincent’s\, Anna held senior clinical operational and strategy roles at Melbourne Health and Austin Health in Victoria. She has over 20 years’ experience in the health sector in both strategy and clinical operations\, and is a strong advocate for research\, innovation\, and collaboration at St Vincent’s Sydney Health Innovation Precinct.\n\n\nMr Russell Aboud \n\nMember of St Vincent’s Clinic Research Foundation Advisory Board. \nRussell has worked in the global investment industry\, both locally and internationally\, for over 35 years. After graduating from Sydney University with MBBS (1980)\, Russell worked in hospital and private practice medicine for six years. In 1986 he made a career change into the finance industry. Between 1986 and 2003\, he worked as an executive at UBS Global Investment Bank and predecessor firms in various senior roles in Sydney and London. \nAfter retiring from UBS in London in 2003 and returning to Australia\, Russell took several non‐executive roles. These included – Director Australian Securities Exchange (ASX Ltd) 2005‐2013\, Chairman Ord Minnett 2005‐2009\, Senior Advisor JP Morgan Australia 2005‐2008\, Non‐Executive Director George Institute for Global Health 2014‐2018\, Advisory Board member Adamantem Capital (2016 to present)\, and Advisory Board member St Vincent’s Clinic Research Foundation (2022 to present). \nIn 2008 Russell co‐founded Manikay Partners – a New York‐based global multi‐ strategy hedge fund. In 2020 retired from Manikay Partners. He currently lives in Sydney involved in private investments.\n\n\nMs Katie Viviers \n\nSt Vincent’s Clinic CEO. \nKatie is the CEO of St Vincent’s Clinic. Through a number of senior roles across a range of organisations in the health\, charity\, financial and IT sectors\, Katie brings extensive skills and experience in operational and strategic planning\, business development\, financial management and stakeholder engagement. She is committed to leading the strategic and operational management of St Vincent’s Clinic\, St Vincent’s Clinic Research Foundation and Open Support. \nKatie holds Bachelor and Masters degrees in science from Sydney University and an MBA from the Australian Graduate School of Management. She is passionate about delivering excellence in clinical care\, research and the mission of the Clinic.

DESCRIPTION:The Paul Korner Seminar is hosted by Cornerstone Precinct Partner\, Victor Chang Cardiac Research Institute. \nThis seminar highlights a few examples of research underway in the Precinct’s Flagship area of Heart Health – an area of shared strength in health and research at St Vincent’s Sydney Health Innovation Precinct. \nSpeakers: Dr Nicholas Murray & Dr Ricardo Deveza\n\n\n\n\nDr Nicholas Murray\n\n\nDr Ricardo Deveza\n\n\n\n\n“Defining the regulatory architecture of Nkx2-5 and its association with cardiac arrhythmogenic risk” \n\n\n“Accessing\, assessing and optimising LVAD-patient interactions with the Heart Mate 3 device”\n\n\n\nDr. Nicholas Murray is a cellular biologist at the Victor Chang Cardiac Research Institute\, working to characterise the role of cardiac-specific enhancers and non-coding RNAs in the regulation of heart development and risk of congenital disease.\nDr Deveza graduated with an MD degree from the University of Sao Paulo\, Brazil\, and completed cardiology training in one of the largest cardiac centres in Latin America\, Sao Paulo’s Heart Institute. He then completed a fellowship in heart failure and heart transplantation at St Vincent’s Hospital\, followed by further specialty training in cardiology through St Vincent’s Hospital. He is currently finalising a PhD in mechanical circulatory support through the University of New South Wales and the Victor Chang Institute.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

DESCRIPTION:Monday 20 October 2025: 10:00am – 12:00pm (Online)\n\nOR\n\n\nWednesday 22 October 2025: 10:00am – 12:00pm (In person\, Seminar Room\, Level 4 Lowy Packer Building\, 405 Liverpool St\, Darlinghurst NSW 2010\n\n  \nThese GCP sessions meet the criteria for ICH GCP R3 Investigator Site Personnel Training as necessary to enable mutual recognition of GCP training among trial sponsors. The training is delivered by Dr Tanya Symons. \nNumbers are limited to 35 people per session\, so reserve your slot now. \nIf you reserve a slot and do not attend the session\, your organisation will be charged a fee. \nParticipants who attend the full session will be emailed a link after the training to complete the online quiz.
